Rugby and relativity: solution

Another situation where relative motions make judging ambiguous in sports is making offside decisions in soccer where the referee, linesman, receiving player, and the ball are all in relative motion. Very fast-moving games, like field hockey, try to alleviate the problem by having two referees, one for each half of the field.
